Every Case Is Unique
The summaries here describe what we typically handle in each practice area, but your specific facts — your history, your family, your country of origin, prior contact with immigration — will shape the right strategy. Request a call to discuss your specific case.
Special Immigrant Juvenile Status
For young people under 21 who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by one or both parents. SIJS requires specific findings from a state family or probate court, followed by a petition with USCIS. Once approved, SIJS opens a path to lawful permanent residency. We handle both the underlying state court work and the federal immigration filing.
U-Visa
A protection for victims of certain crimes — including domestic violence, sexual assault, kidnapping, and others — who have suffered substantial harm and are willing to help law enforcement. The U-Visa allows you to live and work in the U.S. and may lead to a green card after three years. The application requires a law-enforcement certification.
Asylum
For people who fear persecution in their home country based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. Asylum applications can be filed affirmatively with USCIS or as a defense in removal proceedings. The standard is rigorous and timing matters — most applications must be filed within one year of arrival.
Naturalization
The process of becoming a U.S. citizen. Most lawful permanent residents qualify after five years (three if married to a U.S. citizen). The process includes an English and civics test, an interview, and an oath ceremony. We help clients with complex cases — including criminal histories, long absences, or selective service issues.
Adjustment of Status
The process of becoming a lawful permanent resident while remaining in the United States, rather than processing through a consulate abroad. Eligibility depends on having an underlying basis — family, employment, asylum, or another category. We handle the I-485 application, related work and travel permits, and the green card interview.
Family-Based Immigration
Petitions filed by U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents to bring spouses, children, parents, or siblings to the United States. Wait times and requirements vary widely depending on the relationship and the beneficiary’s country. We guide clients through the petition, the visa wait, and either consular processing or adjustment of status.
Deportation Defense
Representation in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. We defend clients through every available avenue — cancellation of removal, asylum, withholding, protection under the Convention Against Torture, motions to terminate, and more. Time-sensitive — if you have received a Notice to Appear, contact us immediately.
Bond & Detention
The government has been aggressively detaining individuals, including those with no criminal history. We help our clients secure bond or fight their cases while in detention, and we travel to the surrounding counties to meet with them in person.
